Extra-terrestrial ?

Moi, j’dis :

La peur ancestrale qu'il y ait des Martiens dans l'univers et qu'ils débarquent un jour sur Terre n'est peut-être plus très préoccupante.

Soit ils seront très méchants, mais être plus méchants que nous, les Terriens, cela sera difficile.
Soit ils seront très gentils, et cela nous permettra peut-être d'avoir une vision plus modérée de nos comportements sociétaux sur notre planète.

Alors, vivement qu'ils arrivent !

I say :

The ancient fear that there might be Martians in the universe and that they might one day land on Earth is perhaps no longer very worrisome.

Either they will be very mean, but being meaner than us Earthlings will be difficult.
Or they will be very kind, and this might allow us to have a more moderate view of our societal behaviors on our planet.

So, let's eagerly await their arrival!
